HAVENING
Let's rewire, reframe and restore - welcome to trauma healing and resilience that lasts!
Ready to give it a go?
Havening Techniques®, developed by Drs. Ron and Steven Ruden (www.havening.org), harnesses the latest neuroscience to utilize the body's inbuilt capacity to heal from stress, trauma and self-defeating beliefs.
Havening has revolutionised how therapy can be undertaken, so distressing conditions such as PTSD, phobia, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, birth trauma can now be healed; and resilience, confidence and strength can be grown in powerfully effective ways that last.
This is not just positive talk.
Havening Techniques uses protocols, agreed upon therapeutic touch, and client focused distractions to create an OPTIMAL MIND STATE - where unhelpful encoded messages can be de-potentiated, and well-being hormones such as serotonin, oxytocin, dopamine and GABA are released.
The results are AMAZING!
Here's to a more healed, balanced and BETTER ME through Havening Techniques.

COUNSELLING & MATERNAL WELL-BEING
Counselling can be liberating, life defining and enormously rewarding.
It also takes courage, so good on you for checking out how I can help.
I aim to support you (or someone you care about), in practical, caring and holistic ways that help explore, reflect, process and find ways forward.
I use a variety of proven and effective strategies- narrative, fACT, solutions focused, pet therapy, compassion, strengths based, Te Whare Tapa Whā and Havening Techniques.
You can access me through private (self-funded), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), True Colours Children’s Health Trust, or Hapū Wānanga ki Tainui.
You can expect a robust, respectful, confidential counselling service where the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) ethics and confidentiality are upheld (www.nzac.org.nz).
Maternal Well-being
Becoming a mum/māmā can be stressful. You are not alone if you have been experiencing mixed emotions including anxiety, distress, depression, relationship pressure, trauma and scary thoughts.
It's Ok to need help.
It's not your fault if you are struggling.
It takes courage to reach out and prioritize your own well-being.
I am a specialist perinatal- around pregnancy, birth, up to the first year after birth- counsellor.
My basic premise in working with you is that the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem, and truth sets us free.
More resources about perinatal mental health can be found at Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Aotearoa (PADA).
